SUNSET CLIFFS
This is where Scott proposed!!! There are beautiful views of the ocean here, and as the name suggests, sunset is the best time to go here. Whenever we need a little reminder as to why were are paying SO MUCH in rent, we come to Sunset Cliffs.
BALBOA PARK
Balboa Park is a cultural oasis that includes 17 museums, tranquil gardens, and beautiful Spanish architecture. We love taking Riley here to just walk around and enjoy the views!
SAN DIEGO ZOO
We are members of the San Diego Zoo, so needless to say we love this place! It is voted one of the best zoos in the world, so we highly recommend checking it out. You'll love walking the trail around the park to see the tigers, pandas, giraffes, elephants, monkeys, polar bears, and so many other animals!
SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK
Along with the Zoo, the Safari Park is also one of our favorite places! The tigers and gorillas are two of our favorite animals to see there, plus the Africa Tram is so fun!
LA JOLLA COVE
Head to La Jolla to take a stroll along the cove, say hi to the seals, and enjoy some delicious food! Some of our favorite dining spots in La Jolla include Duke's La Jolla, Puesto, and Richard Walker's Pancake House, but there are lots of other yummy spots, too! If you're feeling adventurous, you could also go kayaking, snorkeling, and paddle boarding in La Jolla. Check out Groupon for some good deals on those activities.
TORREY PINES STATE RESERVE
Hike up the trail for beautiful vantage points of the ocean and travel down the trails towards the ocean to take a stroll along the beach.
THE SHOUT! HOUSE
Want to see where we met back in 2013?! Head to the most entertaining bar in Gaslamp! Shout House is a dueling piano bar with live music, food, dancing, and, of course, booze. It's a great time, as long as you are okay with potentially being called up on stage to dance! (Scott refuses to go here anymore because he has been on stage twice...) While you're downtown, feel free to peruse around the rest of Gaslamp - our old stomping grounds!
LIBERTY PUBLIC MARKET
Liberty Public Market is housed in some old Navy barracks in Point Loma and is now a bustling market full of food, drink, and craft vendors. We love the variety of the food options here, from Greek fusion, lobster rolls, açaí bowls, burgers, beignets, ice cream, and so much more!
