About last night.... Yesterday afternoon I was feeling pretty down in the dumps after coming to the realization my planned Sisters Summit was going to have to wait another year. My weekend wasn't going to be exploring any substantial trails, I needed to get my health back in order. I then decided, life is what you make it. Let's make lemonade out of 🍋🍋. There has been a trail on my list for more than 7 years but never explored it because it was only a 1.6 mile hike more than an hour away. Briella had a sleepover planned so I text Clayton, "Let's grab the bus and have a date night." He immediately replied, " Let's do it, I'll be home in an hour!" I instantly got all those happy feelings of excitement for a new adventure. Clayton hadn't been to the Dee Wright Observatory and it was a perfect spot to boondock and watch the sunset, plus it was only 30 mins from Proxy Falls TH for our hike the next day. What I didn't realize was Clayton had plans of his own.... We arrived at Dee Wright around 630. Hiked the 1/2 mile loop. Took in the views and patiently waited for the sunset. We had the place all to ourselves. Clayton then began to get mushy! Lol. "When you went to the hospital, I was so afraid and couldn't imagine my life without you...I love our adventures together, the life we have built in Bend together".....then drops to one knee and asks "Will you marry me?" I was completely taken off guard, took a deep gasp...a wave of emotions came over me. I looked in his eyes and saw the love, the support, the kindness, the friendship, the trust and safety.... I said "YESSS!!!"
