Music and mutual friends brought us into each other's orbit the summer after college. We started as friends, talking until early in the morning and sharing YouTube links to our favorite songs with each other -- Drake, The Weeknd, Lykke Li, Passion Pit, Two Door Cinema Club, and so many more (probably a good hint to what you'll hear at the wedding 😂) Over the course of our first year talking, friends would ask Mo if she was dating anyone and she'd say no. Then, at her first job out of college, Alex sent Mo a giant bouquet and a teddy bear with a giant heart that said "I Love You" on Valentine's Day. Mo's coworkers instantly starting questioning her - "WTF", "we thought you didn't have a boyfriend??" Well, as of that Valentine's Day in 2013, she did 😂 And now fast forward to 2022 and these crazy kids are taking the leap together and getting married 🎉
In a year like no other (2020), Mo had a covid quarantine 30th birthday. Alex, Mo and Betty rented an Airbnb in Joshua Tree and had to celebrate remotely with friends. Alex knew how bummed Mo was to not be able to celebrate with all of their friends, so he created a video montage with clips of videos from Mo's friends talking about their favorite memories and what they loved about her. Since it was her 30th birthday, she had no idea the video ultimately wasn't a part of the birthday celebration at all. To her surprise and to everyone who had submitted the video, it was all leading up to Alex proposing with a few of their close friends on zoom. Everyone was completely surprised and screaming. At the same time, their matron of honor & best man's dog knocked their camera over so they missed half the proposal... and thus our covid lockdown engagement began 🎉 It was a beautiful reminder in a shit year that no matter how bad things are, life and love will always find a way to continue on ❤️
