Monica: - I first met Yizreel through friends at church. We spoke only in group settings and I thought he was a sweet man with a great smile. I was at a point in my life where I asked God not to put another man in my life unless he was the one I was going to marry. I attended an event through church where I could spend some time with the word of God, I had no other intention being there besides opening my heart to what God had to say to me that evening. The word I received that night said this, "You did not chose me, no, I chose you and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; and then the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name. What I command you is to love one another..." (1 Co 13: 4-8). There was a dinner after this event and I had been walking to the dining room when I saw Yizreel standing there by himself. He approached me to say hi. I thought he was alone and didn't have a spot to sit down so I invited him to sit at our table. We had a nice conversation during dinner and as we walked out a few other girls called his name to talk to him. He politely dismissed them and stayed by my side until he asked for my number. A week later he called to invite me to have coffee with him at sunset beach. Yizreel respected my wishes to take things slow and really get to know each other. He treated me with the utmost respect, went above and beyond to drive an hour down every day of the weekend to see me, and planned a beautiful picnic where he asked me to be his girlfriend. Through our many adventures I began falling in love with Yizreel's kind heart. Two years later he took me to the same place he asked me to be his girlfriend and asked me to be his wife!!! I can't wait to start this next chapter and have many adventures with my best friend! Yizreel: I first saw Monica’s beautiful smile at a friend’s gathering. After this, I looked for many attempts to approach her. After many failed attempts, we attended the same church event where I made it my goal to ask her for a date that evening. I was excited that she was there, as dinner was provided by the event that we were at, I wanted to sit with her. I started to look for her but couldn’t find her in or outside the dinner room. I knew she had to be somewhere, so I decided to wait for her outside and avoid getting stuck in a conversation with anyone else. She approached the dining room and I was there to greet her! She was very sweet and mentioned that she had a table already and invited me to join her. When we got there, I realized that there was not a chair for me but I was not going to miss this opportunity. I went to ask for an empty spot at another table, took the chair to sit next to Monica and we shared a great conversation that made me fall for her. I wanted to know her and her beautiful heart even more. As we were walking out, I worked up the courage to ask for her number and she gave it to me!! A week later, I called her to ask her on a date. I couldn’t wait! We went to sunset beach for coffee and at the time I did not realize I was on my first date with my forever date. After a couple more dates, I took her for a picnic on a tall hill looking at the sunset over the ocean. Two years later, after many adventures together, I took her to the same hill for our anniversary and asked her to be my wife. I couldn’t wait to start planning the next chapter of our lives and I can’t wait to continue this journey married to my best friend, Monica.
