As with most modern love stories, Monica and Taylor met on the dating app Hinge in September 2022. Monica moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 2021 for her job, and Taylor was a life long River Valley resident living nearby in Van Buren. For their first date they went to a Chinese buffet to eat frog legs, and after seeing a horror movie, walking a haunted trail and going to a bar to show Taylor's skills in pool and Monica's skills in beer pong, the two decided they wanted to be a couple. Once Monica got the approval from Taylor's cat, Nikita, and his dogs, Chunk and Rascal, she started moving into Taylor's house, and together they made it a home. This led to the couple rescuing more animals together, including their dogs, Winnie and Robin, cats Phantasia and Binx, and a handful of other animals that they've managed to adopt out to loving families. After a year of traveling across the country to visit family and enjoying museums, aquariums and amusement parks together, Taylor proposed to Monica in front of a grain silo with a tree growing out of it (if you know, you know) on October 22, 2023. The couple has been diligently planning their wedding, and are excited to celebrate with their family as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
