We first met when I was 16 and he was 17. We had mutual friends and would go dancing and what would you know we made the best dance duo. Never a dull moment! One night after a fun night of dancing and going to pick up Carne Asada fries we all went back to the apartment and that is when he said “you know one day you will be the mother to children , we have something” Now…. As a 16 year old I was thinking “ummm yeah this was fun I’m out!” We continued a friendship and hanging out but never went to that next level. After graduation there was a gap in a few years of seeing each other. And then summer concerts started up and we bumped into each other and it felt as if no time had passed by. We both are over 21 and enjoying downtown life and yet again we would see each other and dance the night away. By this time I had two children and going through life as a single mom. Figuring what I wanted and or needed in my life. Stephon and I were hanging out more and more and the bond was still there like when we were 16 and 17. A year goes by and we find out we are expecting our first baby together. We both weren’t at that point to be in a relationship but we knew we wanted to raise our child in a healthy coparenting situation. We spent every holiday and event together and realized what are we doing he is a great stepdad and dad, we get along, we clearly have love for each other. So we took the leap and made things official. We lived separately, however the kids and I would stay at his home and do all the family things and making memories. Our youngest at the time turned 5 and we found out we were expecting again. We knew we needed to take the next step and move in together. And then BAM COVID hit and the world changed over night. We as a family came out of the pandemic stronger than before. During that time we moved into a families home to save up for a home of our own. We found our dream home and have built so much over the next 6 years. And now we are engaged and planning the rest of our future together as one!
