We first met when Shawyon asked Monica to winter formal dance our sophomore year in high school. As we became closer friends, by senior year is when we wanted to make it official and we've been together ever since.

We flew to Italy for the first time. Our first stop was Rome. Shawyon planned a beautiful trip to see the Trevi Fountain first thing in the morning. As we got to the front of the fountain, Shawyon said to make a wish and when we finished not to open my eyes until he said so. We threw a coin, made a wish, he said open your eyes and I found him on one knee asking for my hand in marriage. Of course I said yes!
