Cross Mountain Park
This is where Sam proposed. Cross Mountain offers beautiful views of all of Fredericksburg.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
Sam asked Monica to be his girlfriend at the peak of this beautiful granite slab. If you are wanting to climb Enchanted Rock, be sure to book your reservations about two weeks in advance. If you expect it will be hot, book for the early morning or late evening.
Tubby's Ice House
This is where Sam and Monica went on their first date. Sam always gets a Tubby's burger and Monica always orders the kale Caesar with grilled chicken. If you're feeling decadent, the fried cheese curds make an excellent pairing.
Fredericksburg Brewing Company
After a long hike at Enchanted Rock, you might be hankering for an iced cold pint of beer. Sam enjoys either the Pioneer Porter or the Enchanted Rock Red Ale. As a note on the Pioneer Porter, his father, who hates dark beer, really enjoyed it.
Southold Farm + Cellar
To get the full taste and scenery of the Texas Hill Country, Southold Farm + Cellar is the place to go. They offer wine with grapes grown from the state and a back porch that looks upon the area's beautiful rolling hills. Be sure to look at their website and book your wine tasting in advance as they only accept a limited number of walk-ins.
Science Mill
Johnson City's Science Mill is a great place to visit with kids. They offer a number of exciting STEM activities for children to explore through a fully immersive experience.
Jenschke Orchards
Another great place for kids to visit is Jenschke Orchard's Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkins aside, this orchard offers one of the state's largest corn mazes, a pool filled with corn kernels for the whole family's diving pleasure, wagon rides, great food, and cowboy roping.
