Omkar and I met while were completing our residency training in Columbus, OH. As a breather from work, I joined a meet-up tennis group and on the first day, Omkar and I walked on the tennis court together, not knowing each others names. Six months later I asked Omkar out to play ping pong and after 2 hours of talking he asks me "So was this like a date?" It was the first of many.
Omkar took me by surprise when he tried to call in a prescription for "a lifetime of happiness, not in a pill form." I thought he was a prankster so I put him on hold and transferred the call to my dad. Then all of a sudden, he walked through the pharmacy doors. I was in disbelief; one that he wasn't at work, and two that he was in Minnesota. He walked over to me, gave me a hug, and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Best day of work ever!!
