As most of you know, Grant and I met online. We matched on 6/21/2019. I sent the first message. We exchanged a few messages here and there for about 3 months and finally made concrete plans to meet for drinks at a lovely cocktail bar called Roquette here in Seattle. I walked into Roquette on September 4th not really knowing what to expect. But who knew that this would turn out to be my last first date. I recall seeing him for the first time and thinking to myself how handsome he was. He was also quite polite. So polite that he tried shaking my hand. Haha. I quickly responded “we don’t shake hands here!” and gave him a hug. The rest of the night was history. Now flashforward to Christmas Eve 2020. It was truly a relaxing yet fun day filled with opening gifts, eating a prime rib cooked by chef Grant, and watching the HGTV channel. So a few hours before I was to head to the airport to catch my flight to Charlotte, Grant had disappeared for a few minutes. Honestly, I didn’t notice at the time since I was wrapped up in an epidode of House Hunters. Haha. So, I’m just sitting on the couch watching my show when Grant reappears and joins me on the couch. He then asks if i would marry him. The thing is, I didn’t realize he was proposing. I honestly thought he was asking if i would marry him one day which seemed like an odd question considering we have discussed marriage a few times. So, I answered as such saying that I would marry him (one day). He then whips out the ring and now I realize that he is in fact proposing. I said yes of course! There were tears of joy from both of us and lots of hugs. We both are excited to not only embark on our next chapter as husband and wife, but we are thrilled that our family and friends will be there to witness this sacred union.
