Flight
We know everyone will be flying to Italy and we absolutely love you for that! There are two major airports near Milan that you can choose to fly into: MALPENSA (MXP): ~40 min drive to Como or $120 Euro Uber/taxi ride LINATE (LIN): ~50 min drive to Como or $150 Euro Uber/taxi ride
Rental Car
There are taxis available at the airport once you land in Milan, however these can be expensive (€110/€150). If you'd like to rent a car, this is an easy option for you to get around the lake. Car rentals from most major companies including Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, Europecar, Budget, Dollar etc. are available at both airports.
Train
If traveling directly from Milan downtown, you can take the train from Milano Main Train Station to Lake Como San Giovanni or Como Lake stations. Trains leave about every 30 minutes or so and the trip is ~30/40 minutes long. There are typically taxis waiting there or a pick up can be arranged from the Sheraton.
Travel Note
Remember that Lake Como is not a big city. There are taxis available around the Lake as well as Ubers, but will have slightly longer wait times than Manhattan ;-) Most places are walking distance though and can be reached by bus, ferry or train. The wedding party will be staying at the Sheraton in the town of Como (5 min walk from the venue Villa Erba). We recommend booking here so we can all hang out by the pool during the day!
