Kristopher and Monica’s story began long before either of them realized what it would become. As teenagers, they met through Civil Air Patrol, where they both served on staff at a summer encampment. Between early mornings, long days, and plenty of teenage antics, a friendship formed—along with just a hint of something more. Life eventually took them in different directions, but they never fully lost sight of one another. Years later, in October 2024, a simple online conversation turned into something much more meaningful. What started as reminiscing about old memories quickly became deeper conversations about life, faith, and the future. It didn’t take long for them to realize that what they had found was rare—a shared vision for life, a deep care for one another, and a love rooted in support, trust, and faith in God. Kristopher brings a steady calm to Monica’s world, grounding her and reminding her to slow down and savor life. Monica brings energy and adventure to Kristopher’s, encouraging him to step outside his comfort zone and embrace new experiences. Together, they balance, challenge, and strengthen one another in all the best ways. When it came time to propose, Kristopher knew it couldn’t be just any moment—it had to be meaningful, and maybe just a little bit unexpected. After showing Monica’s mom the ring and asking for advice, he was told about a “family tradition”: the men in Monica’s family tend to propose quietly, while at home and snuggled in bed. (Yes, really!) So Kristopher took that tradition and made it his own. On a typical weekend morning, he headed out early—just like he always does—to pick up coffee for the two of them. He returned, as expected, with coffee in hand… but this time, he also brought something a little more important. Somewhere between the coffee and the quiet of the morning, he asked—and Monica said yes. Now, they are beyond grateful to begin this next chapter side by side—continuing to grow together in faith, love, and purpose.

We are so excited to celebrate the start of our marriage surrounded by the people we love most. Our venue is more than just a place to gather—it’s a full weekend experience. With beautiful natural spaces, and cozy spots for tent camping (including lakeside views and fire pit hangouts), we invite you to make yourself at home and stay awhile. On the wedding day, we’re keeping things relaxed and intentional. After a brief time for toasts, we hope everyone will spread out and enjoy everything the retreat has to offer. Whether that means playing yard games, jumping in the lake, starting a card game, roasting marshmallows by the fire, or simply cracking a drink and catching up with old friends—we want this to feel like a weekend you don’t have to rush away from.
