Ingonish is home to Monica's family cottage and it's where we got engaged. We understand that Ingonish is not easy for all to get to. If you are unable to attend, we understand and will toast you from afar. For those who are ready to experience Cape Breton Island, we look forward to welcoming you! Please note, in addition to the local hotels included below, there are a number of Bed & Breakfast and Airbnb/Vrbo properties in the area that you can explore as well. For those coming to the New York celebration, The Tuxedo Club is located in Orange County, roughly 40 miles from New York City. Getting to Tuxedo is easiest by car, and there will be valet. There is also a NJ Transit train to Tuxedo. We have included hotel options for nearby at the bottom of the list.

Flight

Halifax Stanfield Airport (YHZ)

Halifax is a 4-5 hour drive to Ingonish. As Nova Scotia's capital, Halifax offers direct flights from many US airports including New York (LGA/EWR), Boston and Philadelphia as well as all major Canadian airports. For things to do in and around Halifax, see the "Things To Do" page!

J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport (YQY)

Sydney airport offers direct flights to/from Toronto and Montreal on Air Canada, and is a 2 hour drive from Ingonish.

Travel Note

National Park Pass

Much of Ingonish is situated in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. If you are parking a car at a hotel located within the Park, you will need to purchase a pass either at the hotel upon check-in, or at the Park Entrance booth in Ingonish. The Pass will be good to use for any other locations you plan to stop along the trail during your trip as well!
