Back in 2004, Mona and Mark were 6th-grade classmates. They barely talked to each other and they seemed more of an academic rival. Mark and Mona graduated as the valedictorian and salutatorian of their class respectively. During their college years, they kept in touch via chat and became friends but never really had a chance to meet up again. On their 6th-grade class reunion in 2016, they rekindled their friendship. In that same year, the company Mona was in needed assistance with steel detailing and Mark jumped in to help. Since then, their days became sweeter and happier.
Months before the proposal, Mark accidentally let the cat out of the bag. Mona was awestruck thinking if it was the real thing. In February 2020, they hiked to Mt. Pulag. Their friends were taking photos and Mark popped the question. Everything felt magical. With prior hints about the proposal, Mona thought she would no longer be surprised, but the proposal still took her breath away. She felt emotional and overjoyed all at the same time. Mona hasn't felt certain as the day she said the sweetest three-letter-word that Mark would ever hear.
