Molly and Will met online during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, without the pandemic, Molly’s and Will’s paths might have never crossed in the first place. At the time, Molly was in her final year of medical school in Pennsylvania, while Will was working and living in NYC after six years in Beijing, China. However, when the pandemic broke out and chaos ensued, both ended up only a few miles from one another in their hometowns on the Seacoast of NH. Their first date was at Smuttynose Brewery in Hampton. This quickly turned into more dates, often adventures, at the Black Cow in Newburyport, walking Piper on Hampton Beach, kayaking in New Castle (also with Piper), and skiing and hiking in NH’s White Mountains. As Molly and Will spent more time together, they grew closer, and both eventually realized that neither wanted their time together to end with the return to normal life. After significant hand ringing and no small amount of cajoling on either side, Molly was accepted to the Psychiatric Residency program at Portsmouth Hospital and Will found work down in Boston. In the Spring of 2024, the two visited Quebec City, providing Will the opportunity to ask for Molly’s hand in marriage. Aiming to avoid the crowds, Will scouted two locations on the outskirts of the city near to the banks of the Saint Lawrence River for his proposal. The first, Montmorency Falls, proved to be too crowded and noisy. The second, the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, was much more auspicious. This important religious site receives about half a million pilgrims each year and has seen many miracles curing the sick and disabled. Now, Molly and Will are so happy to invite you to come and celebrate their marriage together. Each of you holds a special place in their lives that they are grateful for. Their wedding will take place at the Dockside Restaurant in York Harbor, ME, with transportation and some additional festivities in Portsmouth, NH. Both of these locations speak to the couples’ love of the New England coast and the shared values that have brought them together.
