We eloped on Saturday, September 14th in the mountains about 1 hour west of our home in Boulder, CO! Joined by Riley's older brother, Connor, who flew in from Washington to officiate for us. And our sweet friend, Savannah, as wedding photographer among 100 other hats she wore (we love you). If you know us well, you know that we generally do things our own way. And getting married was no different! We felt drawn to the idea of eloping and keeping our ceremony simple and private. Molly spent a few days scouting the right location, heading out on day hikes to find a spot that was accessible, quiet, beautiful, and at the right altitude to be warm enough as the mountains here in Colorado begin to cool off entering fall. Saturday morning, the 4 of us and our pup, Brud, headed out with outfits and flowers in hand. We parked and took in the beautiful scenery of the alpine meadow we would soon walk into. Each of us took a 'good luck, calm the nerves' sip of whiskey before we set off.

Answer
The ceremony was about 20 minutes long and included vows from both of us and an exchange of rings. We laughed, we cried, and it was beautiful. Our dog was weaving between us the whole time, and joined in on celebrations at the end (by jumping up and down) when we finally heard "you may now kiss the bride". Connor had such a thoughtful speech prepared and we are so thankful he was able to join us and take on this role. Savannah was so fabulous and took photos throughout, creating a story for us to watch back through pictures. We all celebrated with a beer and lots of hugs and then followed Savannah's lead in posing for some newly wed shots in the field bursting with fall colors.

After Party

After we got back to Boulder, we had a short break at home and switched to more casual attire before heading out to one of our local favorite cocktail bars / food truck parks. We were joined by a handful of our local friends and shared drinks, dinner and cake. Our hearts are very full! We hope that in sharing some of these details, you feel a little more included in our special day. Eloping was exactly what we had dreamed of! And despite how amazing it would have been to have ALL of our loved ones present, the private ceremony filled our cups until they overflowed. We can still feel all of your love and support from afar <3 Big hugs from Riley and Molly!
