Beer brought us together - Molly

January 2014

My best friend Lucy, who is also one of my MOH's, used to have this weekly hangout at Taco Mac where a few of her friends would gather and connect over craft beer. She would consistently ask me to come and join but for some lame reason I would never commit. Finally, I said YES to coming. It was there I got seated next to Richard. He came a little later than everyone so other than a " Hello, I am Molly," not much came of it. It wasn't until about a week later Lucy, again the reason for all of this, invited me to Battle and Brew, a place.( Video gaming bar) They of course, went for their selection of craft beer and good food. It was at Battle and Brew where Richard and I's story began. We got seated next to each other again, not on purpose, and talked our way through too many craft beers. I remember time stopping. Unless someone broke up our conversation I never even realized time had passed. I was totally enthralled by what Richard was going to say next that I didn't even care what was happening around him. It was after those three hours talking, at a video gaming bar, in Marietta GA, that I knew I was in deep. He not only was incredibly cute and smart but he made me laugh harder than anyone I had ever known. As time went by I learned more about his love for people and his selfless heart. I learned what it meant to have patience, because of the patience he had shown me. I learned what it meant to love someone so deeply, the way God intends for us to love. So on September 30th, I get to keep growing, loving, learning and drinking craft beer with my favorite person for the rest of our lives.

Beer brought us together - Richard

January 2014

I remember the first time we met, it was at a weekly beer meet up with friends. Aside from the brief introduction we didn’t really talk, which I like to believe is due to the fact it was late on a weeknight, definitely not because either one of us was nervous. We sat near each other and exchanged a few pleasantries, other than that we didn’t really talk. If that was the last time we saw each other the story would have a much different ending. Thankfully due to a turn of fate and happenstance we got the chance to hang out again. What followed our second meet up was a four hour conversation that felt like five minutes. We were at a local gaming dive bar and happened to sit right next to each other. It was after our marathon conversation I really felt like we had something special. I knew after that night I needed to see her again. After that night I was able to get her number through a mutual friend Lucy. We talked a few times and eventually I asked her out on a date. Now if you ask her, she will tell you she wasn’t sure if it was actually a date. However, she did show up pretty dressed up. We had a great lunch at Marietta Pizza Company, and I couldn’t wait to see her again. I realized what I had done and set up a proper date. What was only supposed to be an early dinner and brewery visit turned into a twelve hour date and well the rest is history.
