7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Casual Attire
This is a recommended and optional event for those who want to participate in a New Mexico tradition. The Burning of Zozobra is a unique cultural event in Santa Fe staged annually by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe in Zozobra Field at Fort Marcy Park on the Friday of Labor Day weekend as an exciting and fiery finale to the last days of summer. It opens at 4pm but the burning of Zozobra doesn't happen until about 9pm. You cannot get in after 8pm. Maxx and I went in 2025 and had a good time. There is separate parking and easy shuttle access to the park. We recommend getting there early and hanging out on a blanket or getting there later to minimize the time standing if you are not in a seated VIP area.
