One November night, I was invited to a party at the 870 house with Alex Simonieg, now Cronnelly. She said her boyfriend at the time would be there with a bunch of friends, and I should come hang out with everyone. So, I agreed to go. One of the first people to walk up to me and introduce himself was none other than Matt McCoy. He stuck out his hand to shake mine, and his hand was soaking wet, from just doing dishes. I thought "This boy should have at least dried his hands first, but oh well!" LOL! He sat next to me and asked a bunch random questions to get to know me better, including "Do you know my cousin Alex Binstock?" I think everyone in the room knew Matt was trying to be flirty, except me. As the night went on, Matt sneakily asked the group to all share their Snapchat usernames, with the ultimate goal to get mine so he could stay in contact with me. He then asked me to go on our first date to the waffle place downtown Dickinson.

Matt proposed to me in the most special and thoughtful way. We had plans of going to Rapid City, SD for our annual fall trip. Mostly because I love Rapid City, and the Black Hills during the fall. When we arrived to town, we stopped by Ulta, to see Matt's best friend Aly Gibson. She had told us that there would be a big firework show at Roy's Drive In Movie Theater tonight, and we should go watch it because it is really cool! We agreed and made plans to go. Matt and I had also planned on going out to dinner after the fireworks display, so we both got dressed up, and headed to the drive in. When we got there, I notice there was not a single car in the lot. I became suspicious, and asked Matt why no one was here to see the fireworks. He replied with "I have no idea! I better go talk to someone, or call Aly and find out what is going on!" After some coaxing, Matt got me outside to sit on the end of the tailgate of his pickup. He kept telling me that the fireworks should start soon! All of a sudden, one of my favorite songs started playing on a radio by us, and a power point slideshow that Matt made including pictures of the both of us came onto the big screen. I started to cry because I knew something very special was about to happen. On the ending slide were the words " Will You Marry Me?" Matt got down on a knee and asked me to marry him, and he pulled out the ring of my dreams. As I was still crying happy and surprised tears, I said YES!!!
