On a summer night in East Lansing, we were out at the bars with our friend groups. We bumped into each other twice throughout the night, numbers were exchanged, and the rest is history.

The past few summers, we have gone to Blue Lake to watch the annual Perseid meteor shower. The skies are always super clear on the lake, and we have been able to see dozens of meteors each trip. This year was special because we were able to bring our daughter to the lake with us. We went out to the boat with hopes the skies would be clear. As soon as we stepped onto the dock, a giant meteor flew overhead. We got to the middle of the lake, with the Halo soundtrack playing, when Molly said it was the perfect spot to view the sky. At that moment, Lance knew it was the right time, got down on his knee, and popped the question. It was a perfect moment between just the two of us, and we celebrated with our daughter once we got back to the lake house.
