From Dolphins to Dance Floors:

The Story of How We Met

Josh: We met at work—yep, SeaWorld. Not the most typical love story setting, but then again, not everyone gets to fall in love in wetsuits and Chacos. We were both dolphin trainers, spending our days tossing fish and sharing jokes over the sound of whistles and splashes. Molly: We were friends first—just coworkers who laughed a lot and always seemed to find each other at the same place at the same time. Josh was the guy who made everyone feel seen, and I liked that about him. (Don’t tell him I said that.) Josh: I invited Molly to my birthday dinner—not thinking much of it, honestly. Just wanted all my favorite people there. (Totally didn't have a crush on her already or anything.) After dinner, I told the group we were going country dancing. Some said no. Molly said yes. (Score.) Molly: Let’s just say I wasn’t expecting a life-altering moment on the dance floor. But then Thomas Rhett’s "Make Me Wanna" came on, and something shifted. The way he spun me, the smile he gave me—I fell in love right there, boots and all. Josh: We haven’t stopped dancing since.

The Photographer, in the Garden, with the Ring:

The Story of How Josh Proposed

Molly: We were on a road trip to South Carolina, doing what we do best—zoo-hopping, aquarium-strolling, and spending as much time as possible around animals. It was the perfect getaway, and I thought we were just soaking up some spring sunshine and quality time. Josh: Meanwhile, I was secretly sweating. I had the ring, a plan, and one major secret: I had coordinated the whole thing with a photographer… who I pretended I didn’t know. Molly: On May 6th, 2024, we visited Brookgreen Gardens, a gorgeous place filled with flowers, fountains, sculptures—and yes, some pretty awesome animals. It was peaceful, beautiful, and right up our alley. (Highly recommend if you love art and otters.) Josh: As we walked through the gardens, I spotted the photographer—someone with a big, fancy camera who just 'happened' to be nearby. I asked her if she could take a quick photo of us on my phone. Totally casual. Totally not suspicious. (Molly bought it.) Molly: I totally bought it. I had no idea they actually knew each other and had coordinated the whole thing in advance. Smooth move. Josh: But first—I had to set the scene. I made sure Molly’s sunglasses were off, her hair was just right, and that she wasn’t holding anything random. You only get one shot at this! I got down on one knee, asked her to marry me, and she said yes. The photographer captured it all—on my phone and her camera. Molly: It was the best surprise. I cried, laughed, and kept saying, “Wait… you KNEW her?!” He thought of everything, planned every little detail, and I had no clue. (and y'all, the ring is gorgeous.) Josh: And just like that, our biggest adventure yet officially began!
