Things To Do

High Road to Taos

High Road to Taos, NM

Enjoy a stunning detour through the mountains between Santa Fe and Taos. I highly recommend this drive if you have an extra 30 mins or so. Read more about the route in the link. Although both routes from Santa Fe to Taos are beautiful, this one will take your breath away.

Angel Fire Resort Scenic Chairlift

Take in the beautiful mountain views as our scenic chairlift takes you to the mountain summit at 10,677 feet. Once at the top, you can enjoy disc golf and hiking, and enjoy lunch with a view from the Summit Haus. Check out this video for an idea of what the lift looks like: https://www.instagram.com/reels/DPZvxhWkX8F/

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

NM

Beautiful hot spring pools and saunas. This is a great spot to spend a half or even full day if you have the time. It works well as a stop on your drive north or on the way back to the airport. There are two New Mexico locations — one in Santa Fe and one in Ojo Caliente. Ojo Caliente is my personal favorite, though it is a bit more out of the way. Pricing is higher on weekends (approximately $65/person Friday–Sunday) and lower on weekdays (around $45/person). They are 18 and older pools. no kids allowed, sorry.

Greenbelt Hiking Trails in Angel Fire

There are several hiking trails in Angel Fire that you can either Mountain Bike or just simply walk. Theyre very mellow and mostly Out and Back routes. Oeste Vista is a popular one.

Taos Ski Valley Scenic Chairlift Ride

Taos Ski Valley Scenic Chairlift Ride

Take in sweeping views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from above with a Scenic Lift Ride. This guest favorite offers a peaceful way to experience the beauty of Taos Ski Valley in every season. One lift ticket is valid for Lift 1 and Lift 4 on the mountain. You can ride as many times as you want. Lift 1 is closest to the parking lot near the base. Lift 4 is considered on the "back-side" of the mountain, and a little further drive to get to the bottom of the lift. Both are very pretty. And you can get off and walk around/hike wherever you want, then ride the chairlift back down.

Williams Lake Trail

Williams Lake Trail, Taos Ski Valley, NM 87525

This is a really beautiful hike in Taos Ski Valley (https://www.skitaos.com/), super popular and scenic. You hike up to a high alpine lake... if you're brave you can do a cold plunge lol. You will be hiking in the valley of the ski resort.

John Dunn Shops

120-124 Bent Street, Taos, NM 87571

Near the Historic Taos Plaza, a place to go shopping and check out the historic district of Taos. Plus restaurants and food.
