John Walker and I were actually set up by his Uncle Scott and Aunt Rhonda, who is one of my very favorite people. We met in Houston and I thought he and I would be friends but John Walker had other ideas. After spending some time getting to know each other our friendship grew into something more. Last year I relocated to Colorado and we haven't looked back!

On July 11th we hiked our first 14er, a mountain summit that is more than 14,000 feet above sea level. We reached the summit and John Walker asked someone to take our picture to mark our accomplishment, or so I thought. After the picture was taken he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him and I gave him a tearful YES! My fingers were so swollen from the hike that the ring barely went over my first knuckle but don't worry it fits now!

We will be gathering in Mississippi with family and hope that all our friends will join us virtually, more details to come. We take great concern for the health of those we love and in these uncertain times we feel this is the best way to celebrate with everyone. We can't wait!
