Activities: Gene Leahy Mall (large park downtown), Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, KANEKO, Hot Shops Art Center, Film Streams, Durham History Museum (located in art deco train station- check out the soda fountain), Lauritzen Gardens, Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge (walk across the Missouri River to Hank's home state of Iowa), and of course- Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.
Old Market restaurants/bars: La Buvette is Molly's favorite for great food and perfect ambiance. M's Pub, Le Bouillon, The Boiler Room, Trini's, Nicola's, Ted & Wally's Ice Cream, Laka Lono, Mr. Toad.
Other restaurants: Lisa's Radial Cafe, Modern Love (amazing vegan food), Coneflower Creamery (best ice cream in town), Saddle Creek Breakfast Club, Yoshitomo, Lola's Cafe, Jaipur.
Bars: O'Leavers (lots of outdoor seating), Trap Room, Tiny House Bar, Fizzy's Fountain & Liquors, Pageturners Lounge, Krug Park, Alderman's (dive w/ official and uh, unofficial karaoke nights).
