With the current restrictions surrounding the pandemic we have decided to go forward with an intimate ceremony and reception with our immediate families. We regret that we are not able to share this day with everyone that cares about us but we truly appreciate all of your support during this uncertain time. We love all of you and hope to be able to celebrate with you at some point in the near future.
We first met in grade 9 music class and had many mutual friends but kept our distance. A few years after high school, Darryl sent a Facebook message about a school project that led to almost daily conversations. After many all night chats, it was hard to deny the connection and the rest is history!
Our first date was public skating at McKinney Arena, which was a bold choice since Darryl was not the strongest skater. After a great evening of laughs and smiling so much it hurt, we parted ways with... a handshake. Despite this, there was a second date and countless more so clearly he made a good choice.
In 2017, Darryl was accepted into the RCMP and in May headed to training for 6 months in Regina, Saskatchewan. At this time, we made the big decision to move across the country together to pursue both of our careers. Since arriving in Hinton, Alberta in January 2018, we have been living beside the Rocky Mountains and fulfilling our career goals as a teacher and RCMP officer. While we miss our families greatly, we are so happy with the life that we have created for ourselves here.
In summer 2019, we decided to take a vacation to Mexico to celebrate the end of Molly's first school year as a full time teacher, and have our first "real" vacation together. The week was amazing with beautiful weather, lots of laying by the pool (in the sun for Darryl and the shade for Molly) and countless walks on the beach. On the last night, we were on the beach with a blanket watching the sunset. Darryl was taking some last golden hour photos when Molly turned around and he was on one knee. After some wonderfully sweet words, Molly said yes and fireworks started to go off down the beach. It was the perfect end to an amazing vacation.
