Wedding #2

Even though their wedding was canceled due to the pandemic last year, the couple went ahead and got married! Their "Second Wedding" this year is on their 1 Year Anniversary! There will be a Ceremony and Reception so that the couple get the wedding experience they deserve!

Our Story

Molly and Dakota met when they were only 19! They quickly developed a close friendship and started dating in 2015. Shortly after beginning their relationship, Dakota moved to Wyoming for work. Every two weeks Dakota would make the eight hour trip back to Colorado to see Molly. The saying “distance makes the heart grow fonder” was true for these two. Molly found this gesture to be very romantic and thoughtful which strengthened their bond quickly. After a few months, Dakota moved back to Colorado and they were reunited. Growth has been a very important part of Molly and Dakota’s relationship. Working through set backs together, being there for each other, and always considering the other person have helped them grow as a couple. Around two years ago the couple decided to go back to school together. Dakota for his Bachelor's in Economics and Molly for her Master's in Human Resource Management. Both push one another to be the best person that they can be through acceptance, dedication, loyalty, understanding, and love. Three years ago the couple decided to get a puppy that they named Nova. She is a husky-pitbull mix and the definition of a wild child! Molly and Dakota raised her from just seven weeks old and she is a huge part of their lives. The trio love to go on hikes, walks, and of course, play ball. Other than playing with their puppy, the couple enjoys traveling, going to concerts, watching football (Go Steelers!), trying new restaurants, and going on adventures. Molly and Dakota knew a long time ago that they would get married and they cannot wait to celebrate with everyone!

The Proposal from Molly’s Perspective

Dakota and I went to Cancun in July 2019 to celebrate 4 years of being together. After a fancy dinner, Dakota asked me if I wanted to take a walk on the beach. I said of course (because who would turn that down) and we headed towards the ocean. Once we hit the wooden stairs that led down to the beach, Dakota started walking quickly attempting to make me keep up with him. I was carrying my shoes and wanted to avoid splinters so I turned to him and said "Slow down! You're pulling me down the stairs!" He apologized and slowed down for me. Once we made it to the sand I looked up and realized how beautiful the sunset was. It turned the entire sky pink just as the sun was setting... that is something I will never forget. We did not make it very far on our walk because as soon as we were by the water Dakota looks at the sand and says "Oh I think I found a sea shell!" I have just enough time to skeptically say "Really?" (because let me tell you, there were zero sea shells on this beach). Then as he goes to pick up the "sea shell" he swings around on one knee with a diamond ring in his hand and says "Molly Seneca Swanson, will you marry me?" Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I immediately burst into tears and completely forgot to even look at the ring until later on. Looking back, I now realize he was dragging me down those stairs because he couldn't wait to propose! Dakota's proposal couldn't have been more perfect!

The Proposal from Dakota’s Perspective

They say love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies, and the moment Molly came into my life my soul was finally complete. She was the one I had been waiting for all my life and I knew I had to tell her how I felt. I had a vision of the perfect way to ask her, but nothing would prepare me for how exhilarating the reality of it would be. Months prior, I snuck out of work early to buy her ring. Just like the amazing woman who’d eventually wear it, the ring took my breath away the moment I saw it. After asking her parents for permission, making sure no one gave it away, and getting the ring past airport security, the moment had finally come. She looked stunning in her black dress at dinner and there wasn’t a doubt in my mind on what I was about to do. As we left dinner I casually suggested taking a walk on the beach. She agreed, and I had to disguise the fact that something special was about to happen. In an effort to preserve the remaining sunset, we rushed down the wooden staircase to the beach. My heart raced as we approached the water. I told her I thought I saw a seashell (this beach was spotless, mind you) and as she followed me to the shoreline, I spun around and announced the phrase I had recited in my head so many times before, “Molly Seneca Swanson, will you marry me?” She told me I made her dreams come true that day. Little did she know she made mine come true as well.
