Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

This is our biggest "adult" moment yet and while we love your children, this is an adult only weekend.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?

Answer

It is highly suggested you have a U.S. Passport to travel to and from Mexico.

Question

Cash or Credit?

Answer

While most business in the area accept credit cards, we urge you to bring cash with you for your weekend expenses. American dollars are accepted everywhere and the exchange rates can be found here: https://www.exchange-rates.org/

Question

Will there be a shuttle provided on Friday or Monday if we want to stay longer?

Answer

We will only be providing transportation from San Diego on the day of the wedding, returning the day after the wedding. If you plan to join us early or extend your stay, we encourage it, however you will be responsible for your own transportation. Please see the "Travel" section for more information on the complimentary shuttle.

Question

Do I need additional car insurance to drive to Mexico?

Answer

Yes, we highly recommend obtaining international car insurance to drive to Mexico. You can ask your current provider if they cover driving in Baja, as many U.S. based insurance companies cover a certain distance past the border. Should you need to buy additional insurance we suggest www.mexinsurance.com or www.bajabound.com.

Question

Is Mexico safe?

Answer

Yes! We have been traveling to this area of Mexico for many years and have never felt unsafe. The resort where the wedding is being hosted is a well known tourist resort with gated entry and guards. Like traveling to any other international destination you should be aware of your surroundings and use your best judgement.

Question

Can we drink the water?

Answer

We have all heard "don't drink the water in Mexico." We do suggest you stick to water bottles during your trip, however don't freak out if you get a little water in your mouth in the shower. For the most part, the water will not effect you, but better to be safe. Ice in the restaurants and hotel are fine, they cater to American tourists and the ice is filtered.

Question

Can I use my cell phone in Mexico?

Answer

Even though we are very close to San Diego, you will not have service in Mexico unless you add an international plan. Some providers offer packages to add to your current plan. Make sure you switch data roaming off otherwise you could get a huge bill! If you do get charged, you can call your service providers and they can usually fix the bill.
