The waterfront promenade is the heart of the capital, where quaint colonial buildings painted in pinks, yellows and blues overlook the harbour. myriad of restaurants, pubs and retail shops that sell everything from high-end fashions and jewellery to souvenirs and, of course, rum. During the summer season, head to Front Street on Wednesday evenings for the weekly Harbour Nights festival to see lively Gombey dancers amid street food, family activities and local artisans.
Bermuda's ferry system offers an easy, scenic and fun way to get around the island. On the western end of Front Street in the City of Hamilton, the Hamilton Ferry Terminal is the main hub of the ferry system, with three routes starting and ending at this location. The Blue Route offers a direct, 20-minute ride to the Royal Naval Dockyard. The Green Route connects the City of Hamilton to other parts of the West End at Watford Bridge, Cavello Bay and Rockaway. The Orange Route, runs exclusively from the Dockyard to the Town of St. George. Riders can buy tokens, pay cash at the ferry or get a transport pass that allows unlimited rides on all ferries and buses.
