About Us
"We are more together than we know, how else could we keep on discovering we are more together than we thought?" –Wendell Berry
Following an online introduction, we connected over our shared interest in the Spanish language, the book Lonesome Dove, and civil rights history.
Through the years, our relationship has been sustained by new recipes, Western films, and John Prine.
Together we have visited the Spanish desert where The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was filmed, weathered a pandemic, rearranged our lives to accommodate an impetuous terrier, and (most recently) purchased our first home.
Now all that’s left to do is make a commitment in front of our loved ones, on a (hopefully!) temperate spring day under an oak tree in a city we have loved for a decade each. After that, we can all celebrate in the Altenberg-Costigan tradition with good food, fine tunes, and going to bed before midnight.
