Things To Do

There is so much to do in Detroit. Adam and I love to walk the riverwalk and just explore as much as we can, but we have our favorite spots!

Belle Isle State Park

Belle Isle is one of our all time favorite places - there's so much to see and do here. The Belle Isle aquarium is the oldest public aquarium in the US (in operation since 1904). The conservetory holds plants from all around the world! The west end of the island is a great place to sit and watch the sunset while enjoying a pizza from Belle Isle Pizza!

Eastern Market

Have time to kill before the wedding? Head over to Eastern Market for their Saturday Market. Grab some breakfast at one of our favorite breakfast spots, Zeff's or Farmer Franks, and stroll around the market. With local vendors selling art, flowers, produce, breads, and so much more, there's something for everyone!

Detroit Institute of Arts

A place that will forever be special to me and Adam. This is where we got engaged! The DIA is a world-class, top-six US museum with over 65,000 works, frequently voted the #1 art museum in the nation. It was the first US museum to buy a Van Gogh painting and features famous Diego Rivera murals (the room we actually got engaged in <3) . Tri-county residents enjoy free admission and the museum is a stunning Beaux-Arts landmark

Pewabic Pottery

The Pewabic Pottery Studio is one of the oldest operating pottery studios in the US and is a national historic landmark. They offer tours of the stuido, but you can also just stop in to shop!
