"MOLLIE" and then "JOHNATHAN" were our first words to each other. We met on Tinder shortly after my moving to Florida. I was staying with some friends of the family until I got on my feet and was desperate to meet people, to get my mind off current events. John "super liked" me on Tinder and thats how we started. On August 3rd, 2017, I went on date. A very bad date, at that, from Tinder. It wasn't going well at all, so I had the guy drop me of at the nearest Starbucks. Not knowing what to do or where I was and definitely NOT wanting to go back home, I called John and asked him how close he was to my location and he told me he would meet me in 5 minutes. That was the day we met in person. We sat at a little table at that Starbucks in Riverside drinking 2 for 1 macchiatos for 4 hours! After talking and laughing for so long, John asked how I was getting home. After abandoning my date-gone-wrong, I just got quiet. Thats when he offered to give me a ride home - ON HIS MOTORCYCLE! I had never ridden one before, and was shaking with nerves. He held my hand the entire way and once arrived back at my house he hugged me and said "Wait until I make you mine. We are gonna be the biggest power couple". I never really thought he was serious until I couldn't stop thinking about him. Shortly after that, we had plenty more dates. Red Lobster cake and cocktails, Annabelle movies in the theaters, you name it. After a few weeks, we all got notified about the approaching hurricane Irma. My family was evacuating and I decided to spend the weekend hunkering down with John, just the two of us. We kicked the weekend off right with chocolate cake, a bottle of wine and a movie. That night John took me on his motorcycle to a pier in St Augustine. And if you've never seen the ocean the night before a hurricane hits, its a whole new kind of high. Thats when he asked me to be his girlfriend on September 6th, 2017.
The story of John's and I's engagement starts on June 1st 2018. John and I had a huge argument. Like earth shattering argument. A few days later, John had told me he bought me an engagement ring to show me how serious he was about us. I told him I didn't want it. I told him that I didn't even want to see it until we were in a good place. And besides, I was a lady and I wanted a real proposal! So John held onto the ring and paid it off. A year later, I had went total boss-babe status and paid for the two of us to go on our first cruise together. I paid for the whole thing, working at the winery, saving my tips, etc. And let me say I DO NOT settle when it comes to vacations. I upgrade us to a balcony suite, prepaid our gratuities, got us both spa packages, and paid for us both to go cliff diving into the blue hole in Jamaica, and for us to go snorkeling and pet sea lions in Mexico, also went shopping in the Caymen Islands and relaxed in the Bahamas. So after getting back on the boat from Jamaica, we had dinner and went to the bar on the main floor where they had live music. A staff member came and asked if she could borrow John for a country western theme night they were pulling people at random for. I let him go without a second thought, talking to our newfound friends that shared our dining table. Next thing I know the music stopped and John is on this huge stage, introducing himself and pointing me out. Telling our story, how important I am to him, and how he bends over backwards, etc. Then he says the cliche "I have something very important to ask you"....drops the mic and disappears. The whole crowd is saying "Where did he go? Where's John? No one can find John". Then it all goes quiet and John comes walking in from the side, kisses my hand and gets down on one knee and tells me that he wants to spend the rest of his life loving me and asked me to be his wife. Of course I said yes! He cried and I cried and everyone clapped. Now he's mine forever!
