In June of 2022, their story began the way so many modern fairytales do… with a mutual swipe right. After talking for a few weeks (and bonding over shared love for pizza and Mario Kart), they finally met up for drinks. They ended up talking for hours, and both knew early on that this was something special. Mollie even called her dad after the first date to tell him she’d found her future husband. Things got truly serious months later when Mollie had bilateral eye surgery that temporarily left her blind. David showed up without hesitation. He cared for her and cooked her an incredible braised short ribs dinner. He still loved her even with her eyes looking in two different directions — and if that isn’t true love, we don’t know what is. After doing long distance for over a year when David moved back to Tennessee, he proposed to Mollie in a treehouse with a very special engagement ring. In September of 2025, Mollie moved to Knoxville so they could finally start their lives together. Now here they are — buying a house, planning a wedding, and falling more in love every day. And yes… a Kentucky fan and a Tennessee fan can be together. They may break a few SEC rules, but they’re pretty sure love wins this matchup every time.
