Travel Note
We recommend flying into LaGuardia, JFK, or Newark. Public transit is available from all airports to Manhattan, New Jersey, and other NYC boroughs. NYC hotels are very expensive in the month of October. Airbnbs and other short term rental companies are technically illegal in NYC (for less than a month-long stay), so we do not recommend booking through one of those housing apps for NYC or Brooklyn. Our strong recommendation is getting an Airbnb in Jersey City, Hoboken, or other New Jersey towns right on the edge of the Hudson River, which is easily accessible by public transit and/or Ubers for a short commute into the city. Even paying for multiple Ubers to and from Jersey City ends up being much cheaper than hotels in NYC. We do NOT recommend driving in NYC. Public transit is the cheapest and easiest form of transportation. There are parking garages close to the venue if that is your preferred method of transportation, but we highly recommend using public transit or Ubers as opposed to navigating the complicated highways, tolls everywhere, and aggressive drivers in the city.
