Our favorites are La Rojeña (owned by Cuervo, oldest distillery in Mexico), Fortaleza, Tequileño, Sauza and Orendain (all in town). There are several guided tours available that take you to various distilleries. There are over 22 places to taste tequila in town. Some of our favorite tequilas can only be found here, so if you love tequila consider packing an extra bag!
The oldest bar in town, said to be a bucketlist stop for the world's cocktail nerds! "The plywood bar and plastic tables and chairs may put some visitors off, but if there is one thing that is far from plain at La Capilla, it's the intoxicating medley of flavors that have been carefully curated over a number of decades. Must visit bar!
The city's historic center is a treasure of Spanish colonial architecture including baroque, neoclassical and renaissance styles. No trip to Jalisco is complete without taking a walking tour of downtown Guadalajara. You'll visit colonial plazas and landmarks such as the neoclassical Teatro Degollado and a cathedral with twin gold spires. There are plenty of parks, galleries, museums, and places to eat and drink here. Don't miss the tiny fried donuts, pitayas, and tejuno :)
About six miles southeast of the center of Guadalajara city you’ll find the trendy and artistic neighborhood of Tlaquepaque (“Tla-Keh-Pa-Keh”). A colonial town dating back to Hispanic times, today it has become the area’s boutique shopping district with trendy shops and restaurants lining colonial-style streets and alleyways, plazas, and gardens.
Upscale shopping center with a great atmosphere! This open air mall has much to offer, it is very modern and it is just beautiful. You will find a variety of stores. Very easy access to the parking garage if you’re driving. You can spend a whole day here alone, or with family. Offers all sorts of food and bars.
