Angel and Mohamed first met in 2017 through mutual friends. Though they noticed each other, timing wasn’t on their side. Fast forward to February 6, 2021—Angel, Mohamed, and the same group of friends took a trip to Grandfather Mountain. Once again, there was an undeniable connection, but nothing was said. That night, after some drinks and games, they found themselves alone in the living room. With a little liquid courage, Angel asked, “Do you only date white girls?” Mohamed laughed and replied, “No, I like chocolate,” making Angel smile. Later, during a game of Truth or Dare, Mohamed took his chance. “Angel, is it true you like me?” She answered honestly, “I find you attractive.” The night continued, and as Angel danced—her favorite thing to do—Mohamed joined her, holding her waist. In that moment, surrounded by friends but feeling like they were the only two in the room, Angel felt safe and at ease. The night ended, and once again, they went their separate ways. But the next day, February 7, 2021, Mohamed sent Angel a friend request on Facebook. She accepted—and sent him her number. They started talking, and on April 4, 2021, under a waterfall, Mohamed officially asked Angel to be his girlfriend. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Mohamed and Angel had talked about their future many times—they both knew they wanted to spend their lives together. So, a proposal was always on Mohamed’s mind, and Angel had a feeling it was coming. Angel’s favorite vacation spot is Disney World, so they planned a weekend getaway. She was so excited about being in her favorite place that a proposal didn’t even cross her mind. The day was perfect—rides, food, pictures, and nonstop fun. As the night ended with the magical fireworks show, Mohamed asked a stranger to take a picture of them. Angel, focused on watching the rest of the show, felt a little annoyed—but she went along with it. Then, in front of the castle, Mohamed got down on one knee. On March 3, 2023, with Disney fireworks lighting up the sky, he asked, “Will you marry me?” And, of course, Angel said yes!
