How we met

Modupeola

If I had chosen any other profession, probably it would have been an entirely different story, but as the Holy Bible says, His thoughts towards me are of good and not of evil, to give me an expected end. Which is how God divinely arranged to give me career fulfilment and love in one profession. I was just a student nurse in my first year at the Nursing school, and on my very first clinical posting to the hospital. I got to the ward that fateful day and went about doing my job as usual, not knowing that the man God has chosen to walk with me through life's journey was among the patients I nursed that day. An old schoolmate of mine who happened to be his family acquitance came visiting at some point during his hospital stay and served as our mutual friend and gave my number to him when he was discharged and the rest they would say is history, but in our case, the rest is destiny which has led us to this beautiful moment. The start of #ForevertheKennys. In December 2020, He came all the way from the US to the UK to surprise me and proposed to marry me. That was the easiest Yes I've said all my life. It's being 10 beautiful years of friendship laced with lots of ups and downs especially distance, but Oluwadara is one consistent person, his calmness, maturity and love is one of a kind for me, and I'm so glad I found my best friend, my no 1 fan and cheerleader in him and I'm so excited about our next phase together.

Oluwadara

I have always heard about “Love at first sight” but I believed it happens only in movies….well, I experienced it firsthand with Modupeola. In 2012, it all started with just an headache that developed into something so serious which led to my admission in the hospital where Ola was one of the many nurses who cared for me. Despite the fact that I was in pains and losing myself, I was able to distinguish her natural beauty, hairstyle and caring personality in an instant. After this day, I looked forward to when she will be on duty as I always want her around and will request her attention many times over for the tiniest reason at all which she will pleasantly oblige my requests as flimsy as they were as she does with the other patients. As God will have it, a family friend came around to check on me and Olami as I now call her was at work, they saw each other and were surprised to meet again after their high school days. After she left, I asked this family friend to please make sure to get her contact which he did. Her beautiful smile, charming personality, intelligence and drive for purpose really caught me and here am I, looking forward to spending the rest of my life with the Nurse Omotoyinbo who took care of me on the sick bed and now becoming Mrs Kehinde and my personal nurse for life. The sickness the enemy planned to inflict me was actually God’s plan for me to obtain his favour by meeting my better half and soul mate.
