Not even gonna lie to you...we met the way most people meet now a days...through a dating app. April 10th was our first date. We met at a cool little 20s themed cafe in the morning to grab some iced coffee, and we took them to go because Matthew already had a surprise outing planned for us! We had to take a little bit of a drive, and I thought...this is it. This is how I go. I made a choice to hop in a truck with a stranger and this is how I am murdered. Just kidding...but I may have shared my phone's location with my friends just in case. ;) Thankfully, he wasn't a serial killer, just a super thoughtful and creative man who decided to take me to a tulip field to pick my own flowers! Cutest. First date. EVER. To this day, I have a love for tulips because of this memory with Matthew. We had a phenomenal time and honestly could not stop talking. We ended up carrying on through both lunch and dinner. Right away, I could see that we had something special. :)

Cut to two years later. Living near the beach in Florida...a dream come true! Matthew takes me out on his boat along with a few of our friends and we go to an island, as we sometimes like to do. It's a beautiful place called Egmont Key, with soft white sand surrounded by crystal clear water. It's an island we haven't been to yet, so we take a walk around. The sun is almost setting and there is a warm breeze that is so relaxing. As we approach a beached sailboat, Matthew stops me while the rest of the group walks ahead. He grabs my hand and shares a few sweet words, and before I know it, he takes out the little box he had hidden in his back pocket and gets down on one knee. I'm looking at the love of my life, and this incredible backdrop that he so carefully planned knowing that I love the beach, and I'm absolutely elated. I can't contain my excitement! I jump up and down for joy and say yes to forever with my best friend. <3
