We met through mutual friends in college during the spring semester in 2018. We remained as friends for a while, spending time together at Greek-life events and doing calculus homework. After falling out for a while, we rekindled our friendship after college when we both moved closer to Pittsburgh.

We had plans to go to a Pirates-Yankees game with a group of friends, who all bailed the day of the game, and (unknowingly at the time), turned into our first date. Ben was so nervous at the end of the night that he accidentally got onto the HOV lane on the way home, which ended up taking an extra 40 minutes to get home. Lauren still jokes that he just wanted a little more time with her that night!

Ben proposed at sunrise on vacation at Virginia Beach. Lauren said we were not setting alarms on vacation, but when Ben put on nice clothes to go watch the sunrise, she had a suspicion on what was happening.
