Tyler Porterfield

Maid of Honor

Tyler and Kimmi met in 2014 and quickly connected over their love of dance, crafting, and Beta boys. Their adventures together have included everything from creating an epic pandemic crew to accidental naps after cocktail hour, learning TikTok dances, and endless spontaneous Nordstrom runs! Their friendship has defied state borders over the last 3 years. They’ve laughed together until they cried and supported each other through life’s ups and downs. Their friendship is one of a kind, and their talent for unintentionally matching their nails and clothing should be investigated! After a decade of friendship, Tyler is most excited to see Matt and Kimmi take this next step in their relationship and says their love is inspiring!

Alan Vu

Bridesman

I’m Alan and I am so honored to be selected as the one and only Bridesman! My passions include rehabilitating others as a physical therapist, indulging in photography/editing, working out, and having deep appreciation for animation! Kimmi and I first met in PT school as classmates who lived in Long Beach. We learned quickly that our friendship is fueled by our love for movie references, our hate for super late night outs, and our occasional sassy roast sessions. Kimmi is truly a gem and I am grateful to have her as one of my best friends who understands me on a deeper level and who loves me unconditionally. A cheers and a 5 second chuggies to Kimmi & Matt!

Ashley Cooper

Bridesmaid

Kimmi and I met sophomore year of college during RA training and quickly became friends once we realized that we both not only worked together, but also loved to go the same frat parties! We soon fell in love, and Kimmi somehow convinced me to go to a million social outings that I didn't have enough energy for, started waking me up at 6am to go to workout classes that I didn't remember signing up for, and basically had me wrapped around her cute and sassy little finger. We've spent countless hours curled up in front of a movie, dancing all night, *trying* to craft, hiking barefoot, crying over boys (specifically Matt and Rocky), and planning our futures together. She visits me on Maui and I visit her in California routinely, and– for better or for worse– our husbands are now also obsessed with each other. Year after year, we've grown closer and closer until she has become one of the most constant, open, and bright relationships in my life. I am beyond grateful to be so sure that we will be besties for life. Kimmi, your joy is my joy, and I am so excited for your next chapter!

Celina Davis

Bridesmaid

I remember meeting Kimmi at the end of our freshman year of college and thinking she was the tiniest and cutest human I’d ever seen and that’s still true today. Kimmi has always been the friend who challenges me to be a better version of myself; whether she’s making sure I make it to a workout class, encouraging me to be social or holding me accountable to the goals I set, she has always been my biggest cheerleader. Whether we were taking naps in our twin xl beds or running around frat parties, Kimmi and I were inseparable in college. While we no longer live a floor apart or across the hall from each other I’m so lucky that Kimmi’s love and friendship has been a constant for me for the past 12 years. I met Matt his freshman year when I became his RA and from the beginning he has taken on the role of (sometimes annoying) little brother. Matt is the most generous and caring person I’ve ever met and because of this, he makes friends everywhere he goes. Being loved by Matt means endless drinks when out at bars, never worrying about a ride home and lots of hugs when he’s drunk. Witnessing Matt and Kimmi’s love grow has been such a privilege and I feel so lucky to stand beside them on their big day.

Deema Majaj

Bridesmaid

My name is Deema, and I feel so honored to be chosen as a bridesmaid for Kimmi! We met in grad school and grew close through the challenges of school and the transition back to life in Orange County. From our nights out to our nights in, there is never a dull moment spent with Kimmi and Matt—they always make sure everyone around them is taken care of. Through all the highs and lows, Kimmi has been an amazing friend—always patient with me, even with my last-minute planning and spontaneity. There has to be one person in the group who has a plan for everything, and that is 100% Kimmi! Thank you, Kimmi, for always putting up with me. It has been so special to watch your relationship with Matt grow over the years, and I can’t wait to stand by your side on your special day!

Hannah Yoo

Bridesmaid

Has anyone ever convinced you to run 26 miles with them? That's who Kimmi is in my life. We met in grad school where we started as essentially strangers for most of our 1st year and then quickly latched onto each other as roomies who hated LA but were determined to succeed and achieve our career goals. We'd show up to classes together every morning each juggling at least 3 bottles in arm (hydration, nutrition, and caffeine!), and quickly became inseparable. Somehow right in the middle of the most academically challenging time of our lives, we found ourselves not only staying up all night to study, but also waking up at the crack of dawn to train for and run the full LA Marathon. And this was only the beginning of my adventures with Kimmi! As COVID hit and forced many apart, I ended up in Shaffer house still studying daily with Kimmi for our board exam and forcing Matt to be a part of my COVID quarantine crew. COVID essentially sealed the deal of making Kimmi and Matt my family, from playing kings cup and beer pong just us three, to fostering 20+ puppies, to hiking, Zoom graduation, Big Bear, house hunting.. you may have seen me at a Schwab family function or two.. and the memories continue to grow as they've both become a constant in my life. Which is why I'm of course thrilled to add 8.2.25 to this forever growing list of memories where I get to stand beside Kimmi and Matt and celebrate in true Kimmi and Matt fashion - with good food, great people, and all the love.

Kathleen Crimi

Bridesmaid

Kathleen (auntie to Nala and Bodhi): Mimbers and my friendship dates back to 2013 during my very first week in California. She was my RA freshman year of college at Chapman and as a very cool and hip student, I went to (almost) every hall event. We bonded over science, dance, and lots of coffee and by my sophomore year, we had graduated from an RA/resident relationship to REAL friends going to a concert together! Our bond only grew stronger through working, living, and yoga-ing together. Can’t wait to show off our incredible dance moves at the wedding! Matt will be very impressed I’m sure of it.

Brett Bader

Best Man

I met Matt on the first day of 6th grade. He was hard to miss - the bowling ball of a child trying to impress the best looking girl in the class above his own. With his lack of shame and my debilitating good looks, I knew we’d be fast friends. Gaston and Lefou, Dr. Evil and Mini Me, Brett and Matt. Little did I know that that fast friendship would turn into a best friendship. From neighbors in high school, to roommates in college, back to sorta-neighbors in Orange County, I’m honored to stand next to my best friend on the most special day of his life. Cheers Matt and Kimmi, excited to celebrate you both on your big day

Andrew Cohen

Groomsman

It’s been a wild ride with Matt. From having to listen to him try to play trumpet to Matt crushing peoples souls in football and basketball. He really has come a long way. Now he’s getting married. Kimmi, you’re welcome. Matt’s the man he is today because of the bullying he has endured from Jeff and I.

Andrew Ryerson

Groomsman

Early on in my friendship with Matt, I knew we were going to be best buds. I could tell he had strong character, a kind heart and that to be apart of his community, meant something. The memories we’ve created together are priceless and hold a special place in my heart. From backyard workouts and BBQing skewers to hitting Old Town Orange and crushing the girls in game nights, our adventures, conversations, and all the little moments in between have meant the world to me. Matt is a lifelong friend, and I cannot wait to be there through this milestone. This is an exciting time in Matt and Kimmi’s relationship! It’s been incredible to see how happy they make each other, and I know they’ll continue to build something truly special together.

Jeffrey Cohen

Groomsman

One of Matt’s older brothers and the savior from the middle school roller backpack. Unfortunately I don’t recall the details of the first time we met (~24 years ago), but that’s probably for the better because Andrew and I were either nice or took your toys, no in between. Been an amazing 20 years of being able to call you my brother. Congrats brother, love you.

Riley Munks

Groomsman

Matt and I met on the first day of 6th grade at Priory and have been close friends ever since. We went to school together for 11 years straight from Priory middle school to Priory high school and finally four years at Chapman. There are way too many great memories to recount but some highlights include Matt agreeing to be sunday school teachers with me for 10+ months because I had a crush on a girl at the church, drinking our first beer in Sun Valley (far too young), going to Argentina twice in high school, attending hundreds of movies at Cinemark Redwood City, going to Cabo our freshman year spring break, and finally living together for several years at the Handy and Collins houses in Orange. It’s been so great watching Matt find his soul mate in Kimmi and seeing them grow up together these last 8 years. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness together!

Rocky Delyon

Groomsman

A feast of Mc D’s and watching Borat is one of the quickest ways to become boys. (Borat voice) *My wife* Ashley and I would hang out at Matt and Kimmi's which only meant the boys would continue the party as the girls turned in for the night. Over the years, our lives slowly converged and now we can’t stay away. From the Maui Marriott to the Casita to Papaya Playa we have been on a journey to find the next best tequila. I have a good feeling we will be on this journey for life which means chupitos for days! Cheers to many more, Chee huuu!

Ryan Perez

Groomsman

The origin story for Matt and me is simple: we were both born into the fabled Schwab clan, which means we didn’t really have a choice but to be close. Even though I grew up in SoCal and Matt held it down in NorCal, we always found time to hang out—whether he was visiting down here, I was heading up there, or we were both wreaking havoc at family gatherings. As an only child for a while, Matt would say I was like the older brother he never had—until his dad remarried, and he got two awesome brothers who made me a little less special (I’m fine, really). We’ve always been ridiculously competitive, whether it’s sports, games, or even movies. Our movie debates are legendary, and the question “what movie does this remind you of?” is asked on a weekly basis. One of my favorite memories with Matt is the summer I spent in NorCal during an internship, and after Matt graduated high school. We had a blast hanging out, and I got to meet a lot of the people who are now standing with him on his big day. Later, while Matt was attending Chapman University, I met Kimmi at a party at his place in Orange, and it’s been amazing to watch their relationship grow ever since. While Matt and I are not close on a map, we’ve remained close ever since we were wearing diapers at Shannon Lane with Charlie and Hazel (the original Schwabs). I’m so excited to celebrate Matt and Kimmi, and am honored to be standing by there sides on such an important day in their story.
