HOW WE MET
Melanie and Keefer first saw each other at track meets in 2017. She was the cute coach from Williamsport that his fellow coaches tried to convince him to talk to.
In 2018, their athletes were going head-to-head in long jump at the LHU invite. His jumper was in the lead, until hers out-jumped him by just one centimeter. While his athlete didn’t take home the win that day, it was the perfect opportunity for Keefer to talk to her.
They continued to cross paths at meets over the next few years. In 2020, Melanie made a promise to herself to finally talk to him. She assumed he’d be married or taken, but when COVID shut everything down, she decided to take a chance and messaged him on Instagram since she didn't know when she'd see him again.
A few weeks later, they had their first date at Montour Preserve. They spent the day having a picnic, walking around the lake, and checking out the fossil pit (of course!).
That simple day turned into the beginning of something really special.
