Things To Do

Beacon is probably best known for Dia: Beacon, a contemporary art museum located in a former Nabisco box-printing factory, but its Main Street is home to a wide range of restaurants, vintage / antique shops, local artisans and bars with live music. It's about 1.7 miles from Dia: Beacon down to The Roundhouse. On the way grab some fresh donuts from Glazed Over Donuts or head to The Vinyl Room, the Hudson Valley’s first ever vinyl record cocktail bar. There's also plenty of outdoor activities, from easy walks along the river to hiking Breakneck Ridge - a 1,442-ft. peak with a challenging 4-mile trail with several summits, rock scrambling & river views. Or check out Beacon Glades Disc Golf, a course designed around an abandoned summer camp. If you like your art al fresco, Storm King Art Center is about 25 minutes from Beacon and is perhaps the largest collection of contemporary outdoor sculptures in the US. There's plenty to explore, we've put a few other suggestions below:
