Our Love Story

MJ and SJ met in college through a service organization called, "SafeRides". This organization and mission to end drinking and driving was close to our hearts!

In the beginning stages of our friendship, MJ won Mr. Madison (JMU's Homecoming King)! SJ cheered him on and our friend, Josh, was able to snap this sweet memory.

Our first Valentine's Day together! MJ asked SJ to be his girlfriend one week later. 2/21/16.

We graduated James Madison University in May 2016. Go Dukes!

In the Summer of 2016, SJ went back home to Williamsburg, Virginia and MJ went back to Chantilly, Virginia. We spent our summer traveling back and forth and exploring our hometowns with each other!

After JMU, SJ & MJ both moved to the DC area. MJ began work at Booz Allen & SJ served as an AmeriCorps Member. This picture was taken after MJ saw SJ deliver a keynote speech at City Year's Gala.

Our first picture together in NYC was in October 2016, who knew we would end up living in the Big Apple?!

Celebrating the wedding of Cynthia and Bryce Carter (SJ's sister and brother-in-law) on the dance floor in November 2016! MJ was the videographer of their wedding.

We have been on numerous road trips throughout our years of dating. One trip in particular was when we went to the Iron Bowl in November 2016. Thank you to Merlin for these amazing tickets!

MJ and SJ are both goal oriented individuals. Running a 5K together in July 2017 was our first fitness goal!

One of our all time favorite activities to do together is to spend time with our friends on a boat in the middle of summer. Thank you to our friend, Dan, for providing so many memories at Keuka Lake!

After SJ finished AmeriCorps in DC, she moved up to New York City for graduate school. MJ and SJ have had a long distance relationship ever since. We cannot wait to finally be in the same place again!

One of SJ's favorite moments was seeing MJ perform at his rap concert in November 2017. MJxPeaches.

We love Christmas in New York!

We have grown up in two different cultures & love that about one another. One of our favorite dates was celebrating our 2 year anniversary with traditional clothing MJ's mom brought back from India.

In March 2018, we traveled to Zion National Park. We absolutely cannot wait to travel the world together!

In April 2018, MJ surprised SJ right before her baptism. All Glory to God!!

Our relationship has been centered around music from the beginning, so it was only fitting we went to our first music festival with our friends in June 2018!

This friendship was made in America! Oh how we appreciate our community! 4th of July in Keuka Lake 2018.

Right after we completed our first half marathon in September 2018!

Another chapter in our relationship began when MJ moved to Pittsburgh in the Fall of 2018.

MJ and SJ have loved getting to know and love each other's families! This picture was taken right after Merlin's Miss India Pageant in September 2018.

On December 22, 2018, MJ gave SJ the proposal of her dreams and asked her to be his wife!

& in front of our closest family and friends, she said YES!!! It was one HUGE party!

MJ also had his first headlining concert later that night where he was able to ask SJ again on stage.

We are so incredibly excited to celebrate our love story continuing forever on October 25, 2019 & we could never thank our community enough for their unlimited love and support. See you all soon!
