Mark built up the courage to ask Mary Joy on a date. Back then the cool thing to do was go to the mall. So that’s what he did. He picked up Mary Joy at her home in Mount Lake Terrace and drove together to the Alderwood mall in Lynnwood. As most of you know, Mary Joy is hard of hearing and Mark is hearing. Mark did NOT know ASL (sign language). The date was very interesting to say the least. To communicate, Mark and Mary Joy would exchange messages through their phones via text messages. The date went very well despite the language barrier. They even took a few pictures to share the special moment. Five years later the two paths crossed again and eventually the two love birds would make it official on 12/12/14. 10 years and 6 babies later, Mark and Mary Joy want to complete their family with God’s blessing with their loved ones.
After a wonderful evening at the Holiday Light Show and an elegant dinner at AQUA in Seattle, Mark went down on one knee at Gas Works Park and proposed to Mary Joy on December 12, 2018. As light rain drops fell from the sky, Mark surprised Mary Joy by blindfolding her while he laid out a bed of roses that spelled out "Will You Marry Me?" And she said... YES!
Please reach out to the bride and groom and we will respond with an answer as soon as we can!
