The beginning

This is the story of us told by us We met in the fall of 2012. We met by accident and completely unexpected. I remember meeting Mike for the first time. You know the saying love at first sight? This was not the case for us. We didn't click right off the bat but after a few weeks we met for the second time and I was hooked for life. She looked different the second time we met. She seemed to glow. After seeing him that second time I knew. I knew We spent that halloween together. My favorite holiday and the best one I ever had. We dated a few months. Then didn't. Then we were official. We're talking Facebook Official. We were boyfriend and girlfriend. We lived with my dad, sister, and her husband for while. Then we decided to get our own place. In February of 2014 we signed our lease. We really began tieing our lives together, becoming closer and closer every day. He lost his dad in November 2014. Her families home, where she grew up, burned down in March 2015. and we got our amazing Shiba inu, Vegeta, in June of 2015. We suffered some low lows together, making us stronger. Somewhere along the way we both realized our weirdness is the same and we get one another. The rest is easy and totally natural. My best friend.

The proposal

I feel like he should be the one telling this one but... From my perspective the proposal was a complete fairy tale. He had bought the ring months before he planned on proposing, and yes, he planned. He planned so well he had the moment caught perfectly on camera and planned perfectly. He picked me up from work on June 1. This date being significant because it marks our anniversary and being after the fountains opened at Longwood Gardens. I knew thats where we were going. It was a planned date night. I expected it to be us and possibly my family. Either way I had no idea what was about to happen. I was just excited to see the fountains after being closed for so long. We got there and started walking around. Mike would stop us and take selfies here and there and complain work wasn't leaving him alone. Meanwhile he's texting our friends and family telling them where we are in the gardens. We finally get to the good part. The new part. I was so totally distracted by the new fountains I didn't see my family hiding in the bushes or up on balcony. He took me over to the bridge. I remember hearing the bell tower chime and it turning 6 o'clock thinking if it were an hour later we would be seeing the fountain start. He kissed me, asked me if he could ask me something, and as I turned towards him saying "sure?" he was getting down on one knee.... "will you marry me?" OMG those words! It was amazing. I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. And the ring!!! Exactly what I wanted. As I said yes and he put the ring on my finger I could hear cheering in the distance. I wondered who it was and asked out loud "who's here?" he responded "Everybody." Holy crap. He had everyone there. My family, his family, our friends! Absolutely perfection. The rest of the night we enjoyed Longwood with all who came. We finished the night with the main garden fountain show and when we got home we could barely sleep we were so excited.
