After canceling a date, Jeneba decided to treat herself to a relaxing dinner. She walked into BJ’s restaurant while Mike was working the mid-shift. He quickly noticed Jeneba’s athletic physique and initiated conversation by asking if she was a professional bodybuilder. She responded with an unenthused “no”. Mike was paying attention to Jeneba and admired her charm as she conversed with fellow patrons at the bar top. He decided to make her a couple of drinks on the house. While Jeneba was taking a short bathroom break, Mike smoothly placed his phone number under her personal belongings. On her way back to her seat, Mike murmured, “Somebody left something under your jacket.” Unbeknownst to Jeneba that Mike was flirting, she cluelessly responded by asking what was left on her jacket. Eventually, she figured out he was interested in her and she happily went to her seat to look for the item. Ironically, she was unable to find the note. In a panic, Michael came from behind the bar to help her find the little piece of paper. Upon finding the hidden item, she looked directly at him and he handed her the small piece of paper. Excited and thrilled at his charm and corniness, she happily texted him while he was still working. A few days later, they went out on their first date and the rest is history.

We were on a cruise celebrating my (Jeneba's) 29th birthday. Towards the end of the cruise, we attended the captain's dinner. After a satisfying meal, the waiter brought out my "chocolate cake dessert". Since Mike's dessert had not arrived yet, I was willing to wait for him. He selflessly encouraged me to dive in, and I did not hesitate (I LOVE chocolate cake). When I removed the stainless steel lid from the plate, I was surprised to see a bright shiny ring! Mike quickly grabbed the ring, kneeled on one knee. He said a whole speech that I couldn't hear because I was in total shock. I was able to come back to reality and read his lips, " Will You Marry ME? and I was so excited to say YES!!!!
