It all started in the summer of 2019, when fate—or, more specifically, Debora’s sister and Mark’s best friend—started dating. Naturally, we figured, “Why not us too?”. What followed was a classic short-lived summer romance: think arcades, late-night conversations, and spontaneous date nights. But life had other plans. Deb headed back to university, Mark packed up for Nottingham, and we went our separate ways. Fast forward to January 2023. Deb was packing her bags (with a one-way ticket!) for a grand adventure, when Mark, ever the optimist, thought sliding into her DMs again was a brilliant idea. Spoiler alert: it worked… kind of. She left, we lost touch, and we both went back to our separate lives. But as they say, timing is everything. The very day after Deb returned in May, we met up — and from that moment on, it was game over.
