We first crossed paths in the realm of birthday parties and soccer games. Years passed and we went our separate ways, I (MJ) was living in Austin and Eugenio in El Paso. One New Year's Eve, we met again at a party, and it was love at hundredth sight, probably.
On a visit to El Paso, I posted on Instagram for the first, and maybe last time, hoping for a response. After crafting a message, proofread by his roommates, Eugenio swiped up.
Despite the distance, we were determined to make it work. Eugenio flew in with the intention of visiting while I pretended to have appointments at home.
During our time together, he learned to hit a proper tennis backhand, and I was taught about real sushi and the culinary delicacies concealed within shells and bones.
One day, I received an invitation to a "work event" in Houston, where I was surprised with a ring.
Regardless of where this journey leads us, we are ready to embrace every moment, every adventure, and every destination.
