Travel Note

Getting Around By Taxi

Don't expect Uber to work in Korea. Use Kakao T (you need to create an account) to get around. You can pay cash or credit once you finish your trip.

Travel Note

T-Money & Getting Around By Public Transportation

Try getting T-Money Card if you can when at the airport. Public transportation is the best way to get around in Seoul! Traffic is real bad in downtown areas. But! Many of transit systems do not take cash as payments. You tap the card at a reader when you get on bus/subway AND when we get off to pay. T-Money card also comes with some other benefits https://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/TRP/TP_ENG_8_1_1.jsp

Travel Note

Maps in Korea

Google Maps doesn't really work in Korea (boo) You can use Kakao Map (yes, Kakao has all sorts of apps that are most popular in Korea) or Naver Map [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhn.android.nmap&hl=en_US] Visit Korea [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visitkorea.eng&hl=en_US] is also a good way to get around and find places to visit.

Other things to note

No Tip: No need to tip on anything, anywhere At Restaurants: - They are not giving you utensils? See if there are drawers attached to the table. Help yourself :) - Food come out very fast. People eat very fast. Koreans don't sit around food tables and chit-chat - If you need service most places have a button you press for the staff, they usually don't come around unless asked - You pay at the counter for the most part. When you are done eating, bring the bill to the front - Coffee Shops are where ppl go to chit-chat and they are EVERYWHERE. Most of coffee shops carry pastries and desserts to go with your chatter

We don't really know hotels in Seoul for an obvious reason :) I've listed a few I heard of, but please let us know if you need further help. I can see that there are many places near the venue or elsewhere that are much more affordable as well.
