We're Getting Married!

Brendan and Ashley moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in May of 2018, both having gotten jobs at Tan-Tar-A Resort. They both came from St. Louis, having not known each other prior (though Brendan will say that he is a true St. Louisan, whereas Ashley is from the suburbs). They met while working at the resort together, and decided they would give dating a try.... That was an absolute failure. Their very first date started off strong with lunch at a waterfront bar, then they watched what can only be described as the worst horror movie to ever be made. After quite the awkward evening, they decided to give it one more try, it was now Brendan's turn to pick a movie....an even more horribly awkward movie! After two failed attempts at trying to date, the pair decided it was best just to remain friends. Perhaps that is where they should have started! Over the years, their friendship grew until they were inseparable. As best friends, they shared many buckets of Bud Select, went halfsies on sandwiches at their favorite restaurants, and played many late night games of chess. When COVID hit, they decided what better way to spend the lockdown than of course....together. With a strong friendship, came an even stronger love for one another. As they navigated life together during those trying times, it became clear that life was better together as a couple than it was as just friends. Brendan asked Ashley to be his girlfriend in August of 2020. Through their relationship, they travelled Northeast to sample some of the best oysters and lobster rolls in the country, stayed in every Saturday night to watch UFC fights, and enjoyed afternoons spent either golfing, playing tennis, or on Brendan's fishing boat. It was no surprise in August of 2023 that Brendan asked Ashley's parents if he could marry her. Two days later, the couple was engaged. What started as an awkward friendship, turned into a beautiful love story. The irony of their initials being A & B suits well....Ashley is Type A, Brendan is Type B. She keeps them grounded, he keeps them carefree. They complement each other like bread and butter, can't have one without the other (if you know, you know). The couple is excited to wed in the Spring of 2025, continuing their story for years to come.
