The Fowling Warehouse
Brendan and I met in Hamtramck! We enjoy going here with our friends. The Fowling Warehouse is the home of the original football bowling pin game.
Detroit River Front
The Detroit River is located right outside the Detroit Renaissance Center. The riverwalk spans from Belle Isle to West Riverfront Park.
Detroit Institute of the Arts
The DIA is near where Brendan and Lindsey currently live.
Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum
The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village are unique museums in the Detroit area. Both places are great places to explore and learn about some history. Dearborn is only a short drive from Detroit.
Detroit Historical Museum
The Detroit Historical Museum is located by Wayne State University and the DIA. It is close to where Brendan and Lindsey currently live. The museum chronicles the history of the Detroit area from cobblestone streets, 19th century stores, the auto assembly line, toy trains, fur trading from the 18th century to today.
Belle Isle
Belle Isle has many different activities and places to visit on the island. Including Casino, Conservatory, Aquarium, Beach, Museum, Nature Center, Play places, and Bike/Walk Trails. Brendan and Lindsey have spent many of days exploring Belle Isle. Brendan proposed to Lindsey at the Conservatory!
Eastern Market and Dequindre Cut
Eastern Market area is filled with stores, restaurants, and bars. On Saturday Mornings, the market is filled with vendors selling produce, baked goods, food, and flowers. Brendan and Lindsey like to go to the market on Saturday mornings to buy items and eat breakfast/lunch. In Eastern Marker, there is a distillery (Detroit Distillery) and brewery (Eastern Market Brewery). The Dequindre Cut is a rail to trail park connecting the Detroit River to Eastern Market. Brendan and Lindsey spend time walking and biking the trail. They even spent the night on the Dequindre Cut in a tent when they first met each other as part of an event.
The Heidelberg Project
The Heidelberg Project (“HP”) is an outdoor art environment in Detroit with a mission to improve the lives of people and neighborhoods through art. It is a unique part of Detroit.

Mexicantown - Southwest Detroit
Mexicantown - Southwest Detroit has a lot of great restaurants, bars, and culture. Brendan and Lindsey enjoy going to Mutiny Bar (Tiki Bar), Abick's Bar (Second oldest Bar In Detroit), Pupuseria Y Restaurante Salvadoreno (Brendan and Lindsey go here every Valentine's Day), Taqueria Nuestra Familia (Mexican restaurant), and Mexican Town Bakery.
Downtown Detroit
Brendan and Lindsey enjoy riding their bikes around downtown, walking around to the different parks, bars and restaurants, and different events. Parks: Campus Martius, Capitol Park, Beacon. Our favorite bars and restaurants: The Keep, Tommy's, Wright and Co., Baltimore, Detroit Beer Company, Queens and Detroiter,
Corktown
Brendan and Lindsey enjoy riding their bikes to Corktown. They had one of their first dates at Motor City Wine. Our favorite bars and restaurants: Gaelic League, Bobcat Bonnies, Mudgies, McShanes, Two James and UFO bar.
Midtown
Brendan and Lindsey live in Midtown. Wayne State University is also located in MIdtown. Our favorite restaurants and bars include: Bronx Bar, Union Street, Jolly Old Timers (JOT), Old Miami, La Feria, Shangri La, and Detroit Shipping Company.
Motown Museum
"Hitsville U.S.A." is the nickname given to Motown's first headquarters. Originally the recording studios and residence of Berry Gordy and Motown Records.
